1. Overview

KIREZI HOME Ltd, based in Kigali, Rwanda, runs the kirezi.estate website and the Kirezi mobile app for Android and iOS. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect through them, how we use it, and your rights. Our services are intended for adults. By using them, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Data We Collect

Depending on what you do, we collect the following data:

Account: name, email and password (stored only in hashed, unreadable form), or the identifier of your Google or Apple account if you sign in with it
Profile and identity: phone number, date of birth, nationality, country of residence, type and number of your identity document, a photo of this document, profile photo
Purchases: the waiting lines you join, your purchases and their amounts, proofs of payment, signed documents and land titles
Properties you submit: UPI, location, owners' names and contact details, parcel documents
Broker application: national ID number (NID), phone number, association and membership card number, identity document
Call-back requests and search projects: name, contact details and what you are looking for
Mobile app: a notification token for your phone, if you accept notifications. The app uses your camera or photo library only when you choose a photo to send. It contains no advertising, analytics or tracking tool.
Website: pages visited, interactions, device information
Cookies: preferences and analytics, as configured in Cookie preferences

3. How We Use Data

Provide and improve the platform and its features
Verify listings and the identity of the parties to a sale, and meet our legal obligations
Communicate with you: service emails and, in the app, notifications you can turn off in your profile
Analyze the use of the website to improve our services

4. Legal Bases

We process personal data based on the following legal bases: performance of a contract, legitimate interests (e.g., platform security and improvement), and your consent where required (e.g., non-essential cookies).

5. Sharing and Transfers

We share data only when needed: with the parties to a sale, the notary and the National Land Authority (NLA), for what the sale and the transfer of ownership require; with the service providers that help us run our services (hosting, email delivery, website analytics with your consent); with Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and Apple to deliver app notifications, and to sign you in when you choose Google or Apple. These providers are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations. We do not sell your personal data and do not use it for advertising.

6. Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as necessary for the purposes described or as required by law. When you delete your account, it is deleted 30 days later; what the law requires us to keep (the records of a purchase, a sales mandate) is kept for the legal period, then deleted. Some statistics are kept without anything that identifies you.

Manage your cookies in our Cookie preferences page. Necessary cookies are always active; analytics and marketing cookies are optional.

9. Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, or loss. Data travels encrypted (HTTPS). Identity documents, proofs of payment and other documents are kept in private storage, never publicly accessible. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we aim to use industry-standard protections.
